What Should I Know When Buying Air Conditioning? The BIG QUESTION!! Air Busters has the Answer!
It’s a purchase you make perhaps once in 10 years. All the technology is new. Energy efficiency and saving money are on your mind, but you may not be sure on how to make the best decision. What about service after the sale? How can you be sure that it’s there? Here’s a start. We’ve put together these frequently asked questions that you should put to every air conditioning company you invite to bid on your new or replacement system. The answers will help you make a smart and comfortable decision.
Q. Are you licensed? What is your license number?
A. Air Busters is a licensed contractor. Air Busters License # is TACLB00026694E
Q. Are you insured?
A. Are you aware that if an uninsured contractor gets hurt on your property, you may have to pay his medical bills and lost wages. You also may have to pay for any damage to your property. Air Busters is fully licensed & insured. We’re happy to provide you with a copy of our insurance certificate on request.
Q. Tell me about your service department.
A. Who’s in your home? At Air Busters we make sure all of our Technicians are qualified service professionals. All Air Busters service technicians are certified and are able to handle refrigerant under the new Federal Government regulations. We have completed an in depth background check so you can be comfortable welcoming our technicians into your home.
Q. Do you provide valid service contracts?
A. Thinking about another company? Is the company licensed by the state to sell service contracts? If not, who will repair your equipment if the company goes out of business? Selling service contracts without a valid state license is against the law in most states. We are a licensed contractor and our Preventative Maintenance Plans help keep your heating and cooling costs at a minimum!
Q. Do you “pull” all required permits?
A. This makes sure that the job is done right, and is safe and inspected by the proper agencies. If there is no permit, you may be required to have the work done over, even if it was installed properly. Air Busters always pulls and posts permits.
Q. Do you want to check the ductwork?
A. That’s what a proper contractor would do — examine all existing ductwork for sizing to accommodate new equipment, and to check for leaks – Air Busters always does.
Q. What make and model number are you recommending?
A. Get full model numbers on condensers and air handlers to verify the BTU’s, SEER and HSPF ratings.
Q. What kind of warranties cover this equipment?
A. Get both the manufacturer’s and contractor’s warranties on the equipment and installation. Plus, Air Busters gives you our 100% satisfaction guarantee: If you are not completely satisfied, we will not stop until you are.
Q. What is your price and terms?
A. Make sure the price includes equipment, installation, all permits, necessary wiring, plumbing and taxes. A new, energy efficient system often can pay for itself on the money you’ll save on energy bills over what you’re paying for your old less efficient system. Air Busters will help you with this. Plus we accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
